Spending time @3rd Ward during the Rapture

A few weeks ago we celebrated our survival of the Rapture! luckily we were not found by Jesus Christ at 3rd Ward's Birthday BBQ when we were invited to participate at the Moviehouse : Battle.  This has been our 2nd appearance in this venue with our very own Sand Animation Box, but this time we were rocking! << (last time we were classical music playing) The live animation performance started with awesome  beat boxing sounds by Kata featuring Sherita Perez as lead vocals.  << This was our best VJ set of the afternoon, probably it was because our Sand Animator, Sebastian A.K.A. Sebiche, got a complement for wearing wooden earrings. ;)

in the intermission we played music and let people draw in the sandbox as we mixed videos of their drawings with our digital effects. 20 min later Jared Barron played a one-man-band psych rock performance with his drum set, guitar and delay effects << Again we performed live with our sand drawings, but VJ Jesse Mann got his visuals straighter than ours.

after this, the crew chills outside at the BBQ, and us (the Onderdonk residents) finally settle @ home and drop unconscious after two-three days of no sleep,

On the next day we are happy to hear Sherita is visitng us @ the Ondedonk to get her own wooden earrings custom made. We wonder if other people we met on that "eclectic" afternoon are willing to take a hike to the streets of Ridgewood to get other things done

At the Onderdonk we like to cook and outsiders input is welcomed..

take for example our friend Ati is curating her exhibition "FROM WITHIN, and not necessarily our hearts" and for her closing she is offering "chicha", a fruit fermented drink  from Ecuador, but this chicha has the partiularity that is a recepy from priosioner at jail. 

The Drink has one week of fermentation of pineaple, naranjilla (lulo), yeast and sugar. 

Add 120V & voila! you get an alcohollic drink

 Come taste this unique drink prepared in industrial quantities at the closing of the exhibition, on February 24th 2011 from 6PM-9PM at POP_UP Gallery (174 Franklyn st.) and see works of Paul Rosero, Natalia Espinoza, Adrian Balseca, Irene Cazar, Raul Ayala, and colectivo el Bloque, with sound designs by Pedro Erazo.

Hey! so we recentlly got a set of beach chairs
and now we can lay back,
and feel like we are on the beach!!!

I know is winter,
but we can still hang out
just stop by
we may have a drink and chill
the only thing is..
I can't share my sand with you, sorry

we welcome a New Member

Today was a snowy day, and we were fortuned enought to find a little cat on the steet who was crying for home.  She is a tabby, a type of cat found in every single city of the world.  Once I thought of these as an outerspace species that is sent to dominate or spy on humans. 

We set up her cat litter box with sand we collected at Rockaway beach for our Sand Animation Box, so our sand animation will have to do without white tonalities...

We have not decided her name yet, guess we will watch her personality for a bit, and then she will earn it! so far we know she likes to Meaooow! when she want something.

now, the question is if Our Secretary will feel jellous, so far he has a wide open mouth..
